The Real Thing: The Natural History of Ian McTaggart Cowan is based on Ian’s field journals. Those journals, his personal papers, images, lesson plans and digitized versions of his CBC television productions have been donated to the Special Collections Department of the University of Victoria Library by his daughter Ann Schau and her husband Mikkel.  As well, Ann and Mikkel have provided very generous funding support to research and write this biography.
